Shuttle Buggy Operator

This is a highly skilled position involving the control and operation of a Shuttle Buggy/ MTV.

Duties & Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:

  • Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics, and the limitations of the machine.
  • Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
  • Must keep equipment clean, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
  • Must receive and execute directions from the Paving Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Must operate the transfer machine in coordination with the dump man and Paver Operator to match the material inflow, on-board storage and material discharge to the paver to meet the prescribed mix and laydown goals, facilitating non-stop paving.
  • Must safely operate equipment in and in the midst of active traffic.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of abilities and limitations of the machine in all applications.
  • Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.
  • Must perform pre- and post-operation walk around inspections and report any mechanical issues that need more attention by maintenance personnel

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 Year experience operating a MTV/Shuttle Buggy
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in road construction
  • Preferably a member of Local 793
  • Experience working in and around Heavy construction equipment
  • Must have a Valid G License
  • Must be able to Lift up to 50 Lbs.
  • Must be willing to work Day, Night, and Weekend shifts
