An Asphalt Roller Operator is responsible for operating various types of Asphalt Compaction Rollers to compact asphalt on roads, driveways, and parking lots. The Operator must be able to operate a variety of roller machines, including double drum, Rubber Tire, Combo Rollers and pneumatic rollers, and must be understand the importance of using the appropriate machine for the job. The Operator must be able to read and interpret grade, determine the proper speed of the machine, and have the knowledge to understand the various rolling Patterns to meet compaction specifications. The Operator must be able to safely operate the machine and be aware of their surroundings. They must also ensure that the machine is properly maintained and that all safety procedures are followed.

Asphalt Roller Operator Duties

  • Operate an asphalt roller to Compact & level asphalt surfaces as per Job Specification
  • Daily maintenance for each piece of equipment operated
  • Communicate with other workers onsite to ensure safe operation
  • Carry out pre-operational checks prior to use of the roller
  • Ensure the roller is operated in a safe and effective manner

Asphalt Roller Operator Requirements

  • Must be able to operate an asphalt roller
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license
  • Must be able to understand and adhere to safety regulations
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Must be able to Working Day, Night & weekend shifts
  • Regular Maintenance of asphalt rollers
  • Follow safety protocols
